Baseball appears in D3baseball.com/NCBWA Preseason Top 25 balloting

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Following its most successful season in nearly two decades, the St. Olaf College baseball team appeared in the "others receiving votes" portion of the 2025 D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Preseason Top 25 poll, as released last week.

After going 30-14 overall in 2024, St. Olaf picked up one vote in the preseason balloting done by a panel of 25 sports information directors and media members from across the country. The Oles were one of two Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) programs to earn at least one vote in the poll along with Bethel University, which also collected one vote.

Last spring, head coach Matt McDonald's team completed its best regular-season run through the MIAC in 22 years with a 17-3 mark to earn the program's first MIAC regular-season title since 2007. St. Olaf went on to advance to the championship game of the MIAC Playoffs, where the Oles fell to Bethel in the deciding game while in search of their first postseason title since 2009.

St. Olaf is slated to return 37 members of last season's team this spring. The Oles' season opener is scheduled for Saturday, March 1 at Simpson College in Indianaola, Iowa.
