BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Nine members of the St. Olaf College men's soccer program were honored in the 2025 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Soccer Awards, led by Offensive Player of the Year
Ryan Bechtel and Coach of the Year
Justin Oliver, as announced on Monday afternoon.
Bechtel was named the MIAC Offensive Player of the Year to highlight eight Oles to pick up postseason accolades from the conference, while Oliver was voted the MIAC Coach of the Year for the first time by his peers. St. Olaf six all-conference selections were the most of any MIAC program this year.
Bechtel became the fourth consecutive Ole to be picked as the MIAC Offensive Player of the year, joining his older brother,
Shea Bechtel '25 (2022-24), and Victor Gaulmin '24 (2023). In 10 MIAC games, the junior recorded 17 points on six goals and five assists to rank tied for second in the conference in assists and points and tied for fourth in goals. Playing primarily as a wingback, Bechtel, who also was an All-MIAC selection for the second season in a row, had at least a goal or an assist in seven of St. Olaf's 10 conference games during the regular season.
In his third season leading the St. Olaf program, Oliver earned his first MIAC Coach of the Year accolade after guiding the Oles to another unbeaten season (9-0-1) in conference play. St. Olaf won its second MIAC regular-season title under Oliver's leadership and advanced to the championship game of the MIAC Playoffs. Through his three seasons, the Oles are unbeaten in MIAC regular-season play (25-0-5), as Oliver became the fourth different St. Olaf head coach to receive MIAC Coach of the Year honors in men's soccer.

Ben Beckman,
Aidan Hillis, and
Caspar Olseth all collected All-MIAC honors after helping the Oles concede just eight goals in 10 MIAC regular-season games. Beckman and Olseth contributed two goals and one assist apiece offensively. The All-MIAC accolade was the second in a row for Hillis, while Beckman and Olseth both moved up from the honorable-mention list last season.
Senior
Robi Buzakovic became the 14th student-athlete in program history to earn at least three All-MIAC accolades by landing his third all-conference accolade (2022, 2023, 2025). Buzakovic recorded 12 points on three goals and six assists in 10 MIAC contests, while leading the conference with 40 shots. The senior's six assists were tied for second in the conference and his 12 points were tied for seventh.
Senior
Jack Hobday was named an all-conference honoree for the first time in his career after going a perfect 6-0-0 in seven starts against MIAC foes. Hobday posted a MIAC-best 0.76 goals-against average and MIAC-high 0.833 save percentage while recording 25 saves and two shutouts. Hobday also landed one of 11 spots on the MIAC All-Playoff team after totaling 10 saves in the Oles' two games in the tournament.
Sophomore
Jack Soares was St. Olaf's lone honorable-mention selection after a breakout sophomore season that saw him score six goals in 10 conference games. Soares' three game-winning goals against MIAC opposition were tied for the highest total in the conference. He also ranked second in shots on goal (18), third in shots (36), and tied for fourth in goals (6) in MIAC play.
First year
Tustin Todd joined Hobday in representing St. Olaf on the MIAC All-Playoff Team after registering three assists in St. Olaf's two games. Todd assisted on the first two goals of the 3-1 semifinal win over Saint John's University before adding another in the championship game against Macalester College.
