BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The fifth-seeded St. Olaf College volleyball team fought back from two sets to none down to force a fifth set before falling to second-ranked and top-seeded Illinois Wesleyan University by a 25-19, 28-26, 21-25, 14-25, 15-8 score in the regional semifinals of the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship on Friday night at the Shirk Center.
Facing an Illinois Wesleyan (28-2) team that was 15-0 at home this season and had only dropped five sets on its home court all year, St. Olaf (27-9) battled back from dropping the second set in extra points to win the third and fourth sets to send the match the distance. In the fifth, the Oles held a 7-4 lead before the Titans won 11 of the final 12 points to advance to the regional final on their home court.

The loss brought an end to a season that included St. Olaf's first Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) regular-season title since 2010, as well as its first NCAA Tournament victory and highest season win total (27) since the same year.
