NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Olaf College women's tennis team swept Wartburg College and Northwestern College by identical 7-0 scores in a rare home indoor tri-match on Saturday at the Tostrud Center.
St. Olaf (4-0) remained unbeaten this season by winning 13 of the 14 individual matches on its way to the 7-0 victories over Wartburg (7-6) and Northwestern (5-5). With the wins, the Oles improved to 22-2 (.917) overall in singles matches and 11-1 (.917) in doubles matches in their four dual matches so far.
Next up for St. Olaf is a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) match against St. Catherine University on Saturday, March 1 at 1:30 p.m. at West Hills Tennis and Fitness Center in Owatonna.

St. Olaf defeated Wartburg for the second season in a row by sweeping all nine of the matches across singles and doubles. Two of the Oles' three doubles wins came by two games or fewer, while five of the six singles victories came in straight sets.

Alexandra Berns raced to a 6-1 victory at No. 2 doubles to put the first point on the board before St. Olaf claimed narrow wins at the other two spots to claim the doubles point. Seniors

Elliana Loesch won a tiebreaker, 7-3, at No. 3 doubles to compete the sweep.
In singles, the Oles recorded straight-set victories at the top-five spots and got a super-tiebreaker win from sophomore
Mads Hockmuth at No. 6 singles. Zubarieva, Spading, O'Flaherty, Berns, and Clark all dropped five games or fewer in their straight-set wins.
At No. 6 singles, Hockmuth cruised to a 6-0 win in the opening set before dropping the second, but the sophomore recovered in the super tiebreak to come away with a 6-0, 5-7, 1-0 (10-6) victory.

The Oles won two of the three doubles matches to gain the doubles point and went on to claim all six singles matches in straight sets to take down the Red Raiders, who play in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
St. Olaf mixed up its doubles pairings from the match earlier in the day and got victories from the pairs of Zubarieva/O'Flaherty and Spading/Clark to pick up the doubles point. Spading and Clark recorded a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles and, after Northwestern won at No. 3 doubles, Zubarieva and O'Flaherty closed out a 6-4 victory at the top spot.
