NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Senior
Sarah Clark won the decisive third-set tiebreaker at No. 5 singles to give the fourth-seeded St. Olaf College women's tennis team a 4-3 victory over fifth-seeded St. Catherine University in the quarterfinals of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Tennis Playoffs on Wednesday afternoon at Carlson Courts.

Fiona O'Flaherty to make the match come down to the No. 5 singles match between Clark and Liliana Holmberg. Clark completed the Oles' comeback by winning the decisive tiebreaker, 7-0, to send St. Olaf to the semifinals for the 10th time under the current format that began in 2007.
Third-seeded Bethel University blanked the sixth-seeded College of St. Scholastica, 4-0, in the other semifinal, meaning the Oles will take on top-seeded and No. 21-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College in the semifinals on Friday, May 2 at 3:30 p.m. in St. Peter.

Olha Zubarieva got St. Olaf out to a lead with a 6-2 victory at No. 1 doubles to improve to 9-4 on the season. St. Kate's answered with a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles before coming back to claim a 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles to grab the doubles point in the seven-point playoff format.
Junior
Alexandra Berns gave the Oles their first point with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 4 singles for her 10th win of the season. The Wildcats proceeded to pick up straight-set wins at No. 6 and No. 1 singles to build a 3-1 advantage, forcing St. Olaf to need wins each of the final three matches on court to advance.
Spading started the comeback by rebounding from losing the first set in a 1-6, 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles to run her record to 13-5 on the season. O'Flaherty followed by posting a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles for her team-best 15th singles win of the season (15-3).
With all eyes on the third set of the match between Clark and Holmberg, Clark broke back after trailing 6-5 to force a tiebreaker and won all seven points in the tiebreaker to clinch the win. Clark had not played a tiebreaker in singles all year before playing two in a 6-7 (6), 6-4, 7-6 (0) victory that extended her winning streak to four matches.
