GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior Jacob Fickenscher of the St. Olaf College baseball team was honored as an American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings Third Team All-Region 9 selection, as announced on Tuesday.

Fickenscher earned the first all-region accolade of his career following a senior season that saw him land his second All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) accolade. Tuesday's announcement made the lefthander the 23rd St. Olaf student-athlete to be an ABCA/Rawlings All-Region selection, with the 23 Oles accounting for 36 total accolades since 2003.

In his senior campaign, Fickenscher went 7-2 with a 2.85 ERA while making 11 starts among his 12 appearances. The lefty struck out 71 batters against just 19 walks in 66.1 innings of work while holding opposing hitters to a .222 batting average. Fickenscher threw two shutouts among his four complete games and was part of a third shutout.

This spring, Fickenscher threw at least 6.0 innings in eight of his 11 starts and did not allow more than four runs in any appearance.
