Ryan Nolan of the St. Olaf College men's hockey team was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Hockey Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season on Monday.
Nolan landed the MIAC Athlete of the Week accolade after stopping 29-of-30 shots faced for a .967 save percentage for St. Olaf in Saturday's 9-1 rout of Hamline University. The first year made at least nine saves in all three periods to move to 5-2-0 on the season. Nolan was previously chosen as the MIAC Defensive Player of the Week on Nov. 3 and Nov. 17.
St. Olaf will put its six-game unbeaten streak (3-0-3) on the line during a trip to UW-River Falls for a 7 p.m. start on Friday, Jan. 16.
