MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The St. Olaf College men's and women's Nordic skiing teams accounted for nine top-20 individual performances at the Low-pet Law-pet Challenge on Sunday morning at Theodore Wirth Park.
Sophomore
Paavo Rova, first year
Jack Aldrich, and sophomore
Lance Hastings all placed in the top five individually for the St. Olaf men, while junior
Lily Ward, sophomore
Liesl Cope-Schaeffer, and first year
Anna Peikert were in the top 20 for the women.
Rova took third overall in 24:09, one place ahead of Aldrich in fourth (24:10), and two ahead of Hastings in fifth (24:31). Sophomore
Rudy Herold made it four Oles in the top 10 in ninth (25:19), followed by first year
Dylan Casey in 11th (25:45).
Ward was the top female finisher overall in 15th (26:41), followed closely by Cope-Schaeffer in 17th (26:43) and senior
Haakon Erdahl in 18th (26:45). Peikert rounded out the top-20 contingent in 19th (27:07).
Both St. Olaf teams will be back in action at the Ariens Nordic CCSA Invite on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 24-25 in Brillion, Wis.
