BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Senior
Emily Johnson of the regionally-ranked St. Olaf College women's soccer team was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the fourth time in six weeks this season on Monday.
Johnson recorded her sixth and seventh multi-goal games of the season and upped her nation-leading goal total to 19 this season by scoring twice in each of St. Olaf's two wins last week. The senior's 19 goals this season are 11 more than any other MIAC student-athlete and four more than any other NCAA Division III student-athlete this season.
Johnson scored both of St. Olaf's goals in Wednesday's 2-1 victory at Carroll University before adding the first two goals in Saturday's 4-0 win over the College of St. Scholastica. The two goals brought Johnson to within one of the school record of 20 set by Hall of Fame Karen Schwartzbauer '87 in 1985.
The Oles will play twice on the road this week, beginning with a trip to St. Catherine University for a 4 p.m. game on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
