Volleyball stretches winning streak to seven with two wins in St. Paul

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The St. Olaf College volleyball team extended its winning streak to seven matches with a four-set (22-25, 25-13, 25-14, 25-15) victory over Macalester College and a sweep (25-19, 28-26, 25-19) of UW-La Crosse in a tri-match on Saturday afternoon at the Leonard Center.

Coming off a five-set victory over No. 4-ranked UW-Eau Claire on Wednesday, St. Olaf (17-5, 5-1 MIAC) started slowly against Macalester (7-12, 2-4 MIAC) but recovered from dropping the opening set to take the next three sets by 10 or more points. Later, the Oles swept UW-La Crosse (9-12) in non-conference play for their sixth consecutive win over the Eagles.

St. Olaf will play three matches next week, starting with a 7 p.m. non-conference home match against UW-Superior on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
