Women's tennis claims two home indoor wins

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Olaf College women's tennis team recorded a 6-1 victory over Wartburg College and a 5-2 win against Northwestern College in non-conference play on Saturday at Tostrud Center.

Playing indoors on campus, St. Olaf (3-2) went 4-2 on the day in doubles and 9-3 in singles to defeat Wartburg (12-4) and Northwestern (6-4). The two wins gave the Oles a three-match winning streak after a pair of 4-3 losses in the fall.

Senior Alexandra Berns, first year Dana Keesler, and junior Charlotte Sloane all went 2-0 in singles on the day, while Berns and classmate Emma Clift won both of their doubles matches. Berns remained undefeated on the season in singles (5-0) and doubles with Clift (5-0).

St. Olaf will get back to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) play by taking on the College of Saint Benedict at 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 8 at Sta-Fit in Sartell.
