GOLDEN, Colo. – St. Olaf College Creative and Digital Media Strategist Mike Bostrom was recently named a finalist for the College Sports Communicators (CSC) College Division Designer of the Year.

From among 55 entries, Bostrom's portfolio of graphics was selected as one of 11 finalists for the national award in the College Division, which consists of NCAA Division II and III schools, NAIA schools, Canadian institutions, two-year colleges, and high schools. Bostrom was the lone finalist from an NCAA Division III institution. The winner of the contest will be announced live on-stage during the Special Awards Luncheon at CSC Unite 2026 on Wednesday, June 10 at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"Being a finalist for this award is a well-deserved recognition of Mike's outstanding work," said Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Communications Michael Abdella. "Using almost entirely his own photos, Mike's graphics have enhanced the brand of St. Olaf Athletics while showcasing the accomplishments of our teams, student-athletes, and coaches. His work is highly valued within our department and on campus, and this is further recognition of the important role he plays."

In his first year working at St. Olaf, Bostrom serves as the department's primary photographer, videographer, and graphic designer, while also helping run the department and team social media accounts. Before coming to the Hill, he was the graphic designer and running backs coach at the University of Northwestern in 2024-25 and the creative intern for the University of Minnesota football program in 2023-24.

"I am incredibly thankful for this opportunity and for the opportunity St. Olaf Athletics has given me this year," Bostrom said. "From the coaches and staff to the student-athletes themselves, so many people trusted and supported me as I worked to promote and tell the story of Ole Athletics through design. I am truly grateful for being able to contribute creatively to such a special athletic community."
