KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The St. Olaf College men's soccer team moved up one spot to No. 2 in the first United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Poll of the regular season, as announced on Tuesday.

After extending its season-opening winning streak to six matches, St. Olaf (6-0-0) rose one spot to No. 2 in the national poll for the highest regular-season ranking in program history. Tufts University and Trinity University (Texas ) – the preseason No. 1 and No. 2 teams – both lost since the preseason poll, with Wesleyan University surging from the "receiving votes" category in the preseason to the No. 1 ranking this week after downing preseason No. 1 and defending national champion Tufts.

Prior to Tuesday, the highest regular-season ranking for St. Olaf was No. 3, which was accomplished in four consecutive weeks in 1999 and poll 8 of 2025. The Oles have been ranked No. 1 twice, doing so in the final poll of 2023 and the preseason poll of 2024 on either side of the 2023 NCAA Division III national championship.

Head coach Justin Oliver's team moved to 6-0-0 for the first time since 2011 with victories over Carroll University, Bethany Lutheran College, and Carthage College last week. St. Olaf has outscored its opponents by a 17-2 margin through six games.

The Oles will start Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) play against Saint Mary's University at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Rolf Mellby Field.
