KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The St. Olaf College men's soccer team ascended to the No. 1 spot in this week's United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Poll, as released on Tuesday.

St. Olaf (7-0-0) moved up one spot to assume the No. 1 ranking for the third time in program history and the first time in a regular-season poll after last week's No. 1 team – Wesleyan University (Conn.) – had a tie and a loss last week. Coupled with St. Olaf's seventh consecutive victory on Saturday, those results vaulted the Oles to the top of the national poll.

The only other times that St. Olaf has been the No. 1 team in the country were the 2023 end-of-season poll and the 2024 preseason poll on either side of the 2023 NCAA Division III national title. St. Olaf has been ranked in the top five in each of the last eight national polls.

The Oles, who have outscored their opponents by a 19-2 margin through seven games, currently rank sixth in NCAA Division III in goals-against average (.286), eighth in assists per game (3.0, total assists (21), and goal differential (+17), 10th in shutout percentage (.714), and 11th in save percentage (.895).

St. Olaf will face a road test at regionally-ranked Luther College at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23. The Norse were ranked No. 6 in this week's United Soccer Coaches Region IX Poll.
