Andrew Faaumu is in his first year as the offensive line coach and video coordinator for the St. Olaf football program in 2020-21 after joining the staff in December 2020.

Faaumu joined head coach James Kilian’s staff after serving as the offensive line coach and run game coordinator at NCAA Division II Adams State University in Alamosa, Colo. There, Faaumu designed and implemented an in-season and off-season strength and conditioning program and reviewed video to scout opponents.

Prior to Adams State, Faaumu spent two seasons as the offensive line coach and director of strength and conditioning at NCAA Division III Whitworth University in Spokane, Wash. In 2018, the Pirates finished the season ranked No. 10 in the country by D3football.com after a 10-1 season that saw Whitworth (10-1, 7-0) win an outright Northwest Conference title and advance to the second round of the NCAA Division III Playoffs.

Faaumu coached three All-Northwest Conference honorees and one honorable mention selection during his two seasons at Whitworth, including D3football.com Honorable Mention All-America selection Tyler Adamson.

He also was the offensive line coach and director of strength and conditioning at Western New Mexico University for two seasons before his time at Whitworth. During his career, Faaumu also has coached at a variety of camps, including the Gridiron Performance Academy and Sports International Football Camps.

During his playing days, Faaumu was a three-year letterwinner at the University of Hawai’i, earning a scholarship and playing in 31 games as an interior lineman after starting his career as a walk-on. Faaumu graduated from the University of Hawai’i with a bachelor of arts in communication and played professionally for the Tri-Cities Fever of the Indoor Football League.
