Craig Stern is in his fourth season as head coach at St. Olaf in 2016-17 and has been with the Oles for 13 years all together.Â
He joined the staff as the recruiting coordinator and defensive backs coach and was promoted to assistant head coach in 2010. Much of the Oles' recruiting success over the past eight-plus years is due to Stern's efforts - which have boasted the largest rosters in school history. Stern coordinates the defense as head coach.
Â
Stern came to St. Olaf after a five-year stint at Concordia-St. Paul. At Concordia-St. Paul, Stern was the defensive coordinator. The Golden Bears' defense was ranked fourth nationally when they captured a NSIC title in 2003. Stern was the assistant offensive coordinator at Dana College from 1997-1999, and was an assistant coach at Kimball High School in 1996.
Â
A graduate of St. Cloud State University, Stern, his wife Tara and sons Caden and Isaiah live in St. Paul Park.
