Greg Mitchell is in his second season overall on the coaching staff of the St. Olaf football program in 2020-21 after rejoining the program after the 2019 season. He works primarily with the wide receivers.
In his first season, Mitchell helped first-year wide receiver Gabe Alada to Honorable Mention All-MIAC honors after Alada led the MIAC in yards per catch (20.9), while ranking third in receiving touchdowns (9) and fourth in both receiving yards (753) and receiving yards per game (75.3). His average of 20.9 yards per reception ranked 10th in NCAA Division III, while his nine receiving touchdowns were the most by an Ole since Jake Schmiesing also had nine in 2013.
Mitchell went on to spend the 2019-20 academic year as a graduate assistant coach for NCAA Division II Emporia State University, where he worked with the running backs.
Before moving to the college ranks, Mitchell coached the wide receivers at Minneapolis Southwest High School (2017) and was the wide receivers coach/pass-game coordinator at Centennial High School (2016).
Mitchell received his Bachelor's degree in communication studies from Augsburg University, where he played football for four years as a wide receiver.

Playing Experience
Mitchell played four years at wide receiver for Augsburg University. While attending Flambeau High School, he helped the Falcons to a 28-13 record, a conference championship, and four playoff appearances in his four years. He was voted team captain, received the Most Heart award and was a two-time all-conference honoree.
