John Ott was named assistant football coach in 2017.

Ott coached from 2012-2015 at Carleton College. He served as defensive line, running back and kicking coach during his tenure. During his 28 years of coaching football, Ott has coach at a variety of high schools, as well as Junior Colleges in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Coach Ott has also been a member of the
AFCA since 1992.

Ott graduated from Bemidji State University with a bachelor’s degree in physical education. He is a 1989 graduate of Babbitt High School where he was a 3-year letterwinner in football and 4-year letterwinner in baseball.
 
Coach Ott resides in Northfield, MN, with his fiancée Michelle, and 4 children, Hayden, Neyland,
Ginger and Lynnette.
