Ryan Coleman is in his second season season on the coaching staff at St. Olaf and works as the team's recruiting coordinator, special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach.

In 2017, St. Olaf's special teams units improved in every statistical category, highlighted by allowing zero blocked punts (1st in country) and blocking seven kicks (11th nationally).

Coleman came to St. Olaf from Morningside College (IA), where he coached the tight ends and H-backs in 2016, helping the Mustangs to a berth ni the NAIA National Quarterfinals. Prior to that, he coached at the University of St. Thomas (MN), serving as tight ends coach, specialists coach and assistant recruiting coordinator for the Tommies from 2012-2015. Coleman helped guide St. Thomas to Division III National Championship Game appearances in 2012 and 2015.

Coleman’s coaching career began at Edina High School (MN) as linebacker and special teams coach in 2011.

Coleman is a 2011 graduate of the University of Minnesota, where he was a three-year starting long snapper for the Golden Gophers. He earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2010.

Coleman resides in Edina.
