ST. PAUL, Minn. - Tim Bona connected with Phillip Sherman for a 35-yard touchdown as time expired to break a tie and lead Hamline University to a 23-17 MIAC football win over visiting St. Olaf on Saturday afternoon at Klas Field.
St. Olaf led 17-10 earlier in the quarter on
J.J. Strnad's 90-yard touchdown run with 10:03 left. Hamline tied the game on the ensuing possession on an Austin Duncan 17-yard score.
Strnad rushed for 164 yards on 17 carries and was the Oles' leading pass-catcher with six for 27 yards.
Troy Peterson had the other St. Olaf score, a 44-yard pass from
Nate Penz in the second quarter to give teh Oles a 10-7 lead.
St. Olaf will close the season Nov. 15 with a home game against Saint John's University.
