Nick Marsh had a goal and an assist as St. Olaf scored four unanswered to defeat Gustavus Adolphus College 4-2 in a MIAC men's hockey game on Saturday at Northfield Ice Arena.
Steve Papciak had 35 saves in net, including 15 in the final 20 minutes, to get the victory.
Marsh had what proved to be the game-winner, on an assist from
Jonas Fredriksson, at 5:39 of the third period. The goal gave the Oles a 3-1 lead. Later in the period he assisted on
Steven Sherman's power play score with 4:50 left in regulation.Â
The Oles also had goals from
Geoff Gieni and
Patrick Sivets. Gustavus had goals from Sam Majka and Andy Pearson. Majka's goal came late in the first period to give the Gusties a 1-0 lead.Â
With the win, the Oles (3-8-1, 2-3-1) took five points from the Gusties (3-4-5, 1-1-4) in the home-and-home series.
