Bears beat Oles 2-0 in season opener

Box Score NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Abby Starker had a goal and an assist as Washington University scored a 2-0 women's soccer win over St. Olaf on Friday afternoon at Rolf Mellby Field in the season opener for each school.

Anna Sipple also scored for the Bears in the victory. Starker's goal came in the 38th minute while Sipple found the net in the 69th minute.

The Bears held a 29-8 advantage in shots.

Ruth Hesse had 15 saves in the loss for the Oles, who play at UW-Stevens Point on Wednesday.
