No. 19/25 Cobbers defeat Oles

MOORHEAD, Minn. - No. 19/25 Concordia-Moorhead raced to a 31-7 halftime lead and defeated St. Olaf 52-14 in a MIAC football game on Saturday at Jake Christensen Stadium.

Alex Nelson caught two touchdown passes in the loss for the Oles, while Nate Penz was 21-of-39 for 178 yards with the two scoring throws.

Concordia (4-0, 2-0 MIAC) used 14 different ball carriers in the win. The Cobbers ammassed 191 yards on the ground while Griffin Neal was 22-for-29 through the air for 272 yards and two touchdowns. Neal also rushed for 32 yards and a score.

The St. Olaf defense was led by Tyler Vajdic who was in on 11 tackles and Coleman Foley who had 10, including 2.5 for a loss.

St. Olaf returns home for a homecoming game with the University of St. Thomas on Saturday at 1:10 p.m.
