Pipers sweep Oles

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Hamline University had 14 kills from Jena Meyer and ten from Stephanie Kaup in a sweep -- 25-22, 25-12, 25-23 -- of the St. Olaf volleyball team on Saturday afternoon at Skoglund Center.

St. Olaf was paced by Maggie Prunty's seven kills on 17 swings. Abby Carpenter added six kills and Abby Slack 26 digs in the loss for the Oles (7-7, 1-2 MIAC).

Hamline (10-3, 2-1 MIAC) fought off a St. Olaf rally in the final set. HU led 20-13 before the Oles scored 10 of the next 14 points to get within one. Kaup followed with a kill off of a St. Olaf block to seal the set and match.

St. Olaf plays at Augsburg on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
