NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Matt Geurts added a late power play goal as the Oles played to a tie against Northland College on Friday night.

Northland College (1-11-2) scored three unanswered goals in the third period to gain a 3-2 advantage over St. Olaf (3-9-2, 2-3-1 MIAC), until Geurts added a goal in the eighteenth minute to tie the game.  The Oles had goals in the first and second periods from Steven Sherman and Tim Tusher respectively, and the Oles held the 2-0 lead until Northland responded with goals from Darius Cole, Petter Bulling and Colby Spoonemore.

In goal for the Oles, Steve Papciak made 30 saves, and for Northland, Dax Deadrick recorded 41.

Geoff Gieni tallied two assists for the Oles in the tie as the Oles outshot Northland 44 to 33.

The Oles return to the rink Saturday night against Finlandia University at Northfield Ice Arena.
