MINNEAPOLIS - St. Olaf quarterback
Nate Penz threw for 402 yards and three touchdowns, but Augsburg College defeated visiting the visiting Oles 57-35 in a MIAC football game on Saturday at Edor Nelson Field.
Aryton Scott accumulated 313 passing yards and 203 rushing yards to lead the Auggies (3-4, 2-3 MIAC) . Joey Sonnenfeld was Scott's primary target, finishing the day with nine receptions for 126 yards and three touchdowns.
Penz was 21-for-33 and was interception-free as he amassed the third-best passing day since 2003.
The Oles'
Connor Yahn had a 74-yard touchdown and
Troy Peterson nine catches for 60 yards.
J.J. Strnad had another big day for the Oles as well. Strnad had 120 yards and two touchdowns on three receptions while rushing for 47 yards and a score in the loss.
Colten Yahn had 11 tackles to pace the St. Olaf defense.
The St. Olaf offense had its third straight 30-point effort. The Oles scored touchdowns on three of their first five drives and had six drives of 60 yards or better.
St. Olaf hosts Hamline University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
