Peter Lindblad scored twice as the St. Olaf men's hockey team scored twice in the third period to upend Concordia-Moorhead 4-2 on Sunday afternoon.
Concordia jumped out to an early 1-0 lead 16 seconds into the game with an unassisted goal from Jordan Krebsbach. Â The Oles'
Justin Plate tucked one into the back of the net in tenth minute of the first period to tie the game 1-1. Â The two teams each added a goal in the second period with
Peter Lindblad scoring a St, Olaf power play goal. Â St. Olaf took command in the third period with Lindblad scoring his second goal and
Drew Otto adding the empty-net dagger in the final minute of play.
Jonas Fredriksson and
Steven Sherman each gathered assists on both the second and third goals for the Oles.
Concordia led the way with 34 shots compared to 32 from St. Olaf. The Oles won in the faceoff circle by a count of 39-33.
In goal for the Oles, Luke Andruik made 32 saves to hold the Cobbers to two goals. Â
St. Olaf returns to the rink against Hamline University on Friday night at Northfield Ice Arena.
