Brenden Johnson scored the Oles' lone goal in the 25th minute to lift St. Olaf over Hamline in a first round MIAC men's soccer playoff match on Tuesday afternoon at Rolf Mellby Field.
St. Olaf (11-7-1, 6-3-1 MIAC) had 16 shots, 11 on goal, while Hamline (7-9-2, 5-4-1 MIAC) had eight shots, including four on goal. The teams were almost even in corner kicks, St. Olaf had six and Hamline finished the match with five.
Kevin Skrip and
Jens Undlin led the match with shots on goal with four a piece, and
Ben Braman finished the match with four total saves in the shutout.
The fourth-seeded Oles will travel to Collegeville tomorrow to take on the No. 2 seed, Saint John's, in the semifinal round of the tournament at 2 p.m.
