Caleb Lunning's three-pointer with 36 seconds left lifted St. Olaf to a 69-65 MIAC men's basketball win over Augsburg College on Tuesday night at Skoglund Center. The Oles'
Ben Figini led all scorers with 24 points.
Figini was 11-of-21 from the field and added five rebounds in the win for the Oles (2-2, 1-0 MIAC).
Justin Pahl added 16 points while
Riley Aeikens had 14, 10 rebounds and five assists.
Lunning's three came with the Oles down 63-62. On the ensuing possession, Aeikens took a charge and the Oles made four of six free throws in the closing seconds. Augsburg was paced by Brett Rasmussen, who had 14 points. Five Auggies were in double figures as Joe Zangel and Kevin McKiernan had 12 each, Harry Sonie 11 and Collin Olmscheid 10.
The Oles led by as many as 12 in the first half, but the Auggies didn't go quietly. Augsburg closed the first half on an 8-0 run took a five-point lead with 6:33 left. The Oles answered with five straight points by Aeikens.
