ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Oles had four players with double digit scoring totals as the St. Olaf men's baskeball team defeated Hamline 78-63 in a MIAC matchup on Saturday afternoon.
At the half, the score stood at 36-34 in favor of the Oles, but then St. Olaf (4-3, 3-1 MIAC) used a 11-0 run to start of the second period, and led by as much as 24 with seven minutes remaining in the game. Â Defensively, the Oles held all Piper scorers below 9 points with three Hamline (3-5, 1-2 MIAC) players finishing with eight points each.
Ben Figini led the scoring for the game with 23 points and
Justin Pahl was 60% from long range as he scored 19 total points. Â Figini also added 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals in a double-double effort. Â
Riley Aeikens and
Austin Majeskie also pitched in 13 and 12 points respectively in the win.
The Oles take a two week holiday break, and return to the court to play against the University of Wisconsin-Superior on December 29 in a tournament held at Eau Claire, Wis.
