Justin Pahl had 24 points as St. Olaf posted a 63-50 men's basketball victory over UW-Superior in the first round of the UW-Eau Clarie Holiday Classic.
Ben Figini and
Robert Tobroxen added 10 points each for the Oles, while
Evan O'Dorisio pulled down 10 rebounds for the Oles (5-3), who have won four of their last five. St. Olaf will meet the winner of UW-Eau Claire and Coe College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Pahl moved within 19 points of 1,000 for his career. He would become the 20th player in school history to eclipse the plateau.Â
The Yellowjackets (4-5) were paced by Zach Schradle's 11 points and 10 rebounds. Montroy Scott added 14 points off the bench.
St. Olaf did its work at the free throw line. The Oles were 28-of-34, led by Pahl's 11-of-12 effort, while UW-Superior was just 4-for-6. The Oles also won the turnover battle, with eight while the Yellowjackets had 15.Â
