PhotosNORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's basketball team was defeated by #14 St. Thomas 60-54 on Wednesday night at Skoglund Center.
Makenna Ash led the Oles with 16 points and nine rebounds after shooting 7-of-15 from the field.
Afton Wolter had 12 points, and
Woo Bandel and
Betsey Daly rounded out the top scorers with nine apiece. Bandel also had a game and season high of six steals.
Lauren Gutierrez finished the game with three assists and two steals.
The score was tied five total times throughout the game and the Oles had their largest lead late in the third quarter when the led by eight. 23 of their points came off of turnovers and 30 from inside the paint.
St. Thomas (13-3, 7-2 MIAC) shot 84.6% from three-point range and was led by Kaitlin Langer who finished with 25 points, 13 rebounds, three blocks and an assist.
St. Olaf (10-6, 5-4 MIAC) will host College of Saint Benedict on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 1 p.m. at Skoglund Center.
