Riley Aeikens 16 points as St. Olaf held off Saint Mary's 85-80 in a MIAC men's basketball game on Saturday at Skoglund Center.
Figini was 11-of-21 from the field and Pahl 4-for-6 from three-point range as the Oles (7-5, 5-2 MIAC) held off a late run by the Cardinals (4-6, 2-4 MIAC). Pahl had eight and Aeikens seven assists for the Oles, who had 23 as a team.
Wylie Ferron had 22 points and Will Swiggum 10 and 11 rebounds in the loss for SMU.Â
St. Olaf led by as many as 16 in the first half and 51-39 at the break. The Cardinals closed the lead to five with 1:49 left, but the Oles made five of their last six from the charity stripe. The Oles were shot 48 percent from the field and were 21-of-28 from the line and 8-of-14 from three-point range. SMU shot 50 percent from the field and was 6-for-13 from three.Â
