NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Nahjai Brown caught two touchdown passes from Quentin Lake as Augsburg College defeated St. Olaf 27-9 in a MIAC football game on Saturday afternoon at Manitou Field.
The Auggies (2-5, 2-3 MIAC) scored 20 unanswered points after St. Olaf came within 7-3 on a 31-yard field goal from Kyle McMahon late in the first quarter.
Troy Peterson had 11 receptions for 132 yards in the loss for the Oles (1-5, 0-4 MIAC), who used two quarterbacks.
Ricardo Johnson III was 13-of-26 for 108 yards and an interceptions while rushing for a team-best 50 yards in the loss.
Jack Goldstein was 13-for-21 for 195 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions. Goldstein connected with
Connor Henderson for a 13-yard score with 3:54 to go.
Tyler Hanson hit two key fourth quarter field goals from 37 and 25 yards for the Auggies, who had an edge in total yards (473-373) and a slight margin in first downs (23-20). Augsburg converted when they needed to. The Auggies were 13-of-22 on third down and were 3-for-4 in the red zone. The Oles were 5-of-15 on third down and managed two scores on four red zone drives.
