Jack Goldstein threw for 328 yards and two touchdowns as visiting St. Olaf claimed a 32-25 MIAC football win over Carleton on Saturday at Laird Stadium.
Jorgen Salveson had a team-best seven receptions for 127 yards while
Connor Henderson and
Connor Yahn each had scoring catches for the Oles (2-5, 1-4 MIAC), who won their third straight against Carleton.
Troy Peterson's six-yard touchdown run with 4:23 left in the third quarter broke a 25-25 tie, capping a seven-play, 66-yard drive. Peterson rushed for 24 yards on three carries while
Bryan Aviles had a team-high 82 yards with a touchdown on 27 carries.
Zach Creighton had 14 receptions, two off of a school record, for 120 yards and a touchdown for the Knights (1-7, 1-5 MIAC).Â
St. Olaf held a slight edge in total yards, 438-429, while Carleton had 24 first downs to the Oles' 21. There were five lead changes and St. Olaf was a little better on third down, converting on 10-of-17. Carleton was 7-for-15. The St. Olaf offense scored on each of its first five possessions.Â
