NORTHFIELD, Minn. - UW-Stout scored in the final minute-plus of overtime to defeat St. Olaf 5-4 and spoil a third period Ole comeback on Saturday at Northfield Ice Arena.
Jordan Stejskal netted the game-winner with 1:08 left in the extra session on a feed from Riley Colvard.Â
The Oles (1-5-0) trailed 4-2 into the third period and tied the game on goals from Tobias Gabrielson (17:12) and
JT Paine (17:46). Tuukka Totra assisted on teh first goal and had another in the second period.
It was the second comeback of the night for the Oles. UW-Stout (4-2-0) took a 2-0 lead on first perior goals from Gavin Smith and Connor Valesano. The Oles then tied the game on a shorthanded score from
Will Dittrich and goal from
Chris Koziel at 13:29 of the second.Â
The Blue Devils countered with an Alex Toscano goal 2:08 later and took a 4-2 lead on Riley Colvard's goal at 16:56. Colvard also had two assists on the night.
St. Olaf returns to MIAC play next weekend with a home-and-home series against Saint Mary's University. The teams meet in Winona on Friday and in Northfield on Saturday.Â
