NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Austin Majeskie had 18 points as St. Olaf opened the second half on a 19-0 run on the way to a 63-55 men's basketball victory over visting UW-Stevens Point to open the 2016-17 season on Tuesday night at Skoglund Center.

Robert Tobroxen added 15 points and Austin Korba 10 for the Oles (1-0), who shot 62.5 percent from the floor in the second half.

Ethan Bublitz had 17 points to pace UW-Stevens Point. The Pointers used a run of their own, an 11-2 rally to close the first half, to take a 27-20 lead to the break.

Ben Scheffley had nine assists, including three during the 19-0 run, for St. Olaf.

The Oles led by as many as 14 but UW-Stevens Point didn't go quietly. Luke Zuiker had each of his five points in the final two minutes to cut the Ole lead to seven, at 59-52 with 59 seconds left. The Oles were spotty at the free throw line in the second half, making just 8-of-16, but Majeskie made two straight with 44 seconds left to all but seal it.

St. Olaf travels to Walla Walla, Wash. this weekend for a pair of tough tests. The Oles play No. 9 Whitman on Friday and No. 12 Whitworth on Saturday.
