NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Division II Southwest Minnesota State University pulled away for an 80-55 exhibition men's basketball win over St. Olaf on Thursday night at Skoglund Center.
The Mustangs had four in double figures led by Joey Bartlett and Taylor Schaffer, who had 14 points each off of the bench. Michael Lee added 12 points, going 4-for-4 from three-point range in the victory.Â
Austin Majeskie's 13 points led St. Olaf while
Austin Korba added nine and
Daniel Katuka seven. The Oles shot nearly 50 percent from the field, but had 18 turnovers.Â
SMSU hit on 69.2 percent from the field (18-for-26) in the second half and 57.4 percent for the game.
St. Olaf was 2-for-8 from three-point range while SMSU connected on 13-of-21. The Mustangs controlled the paint, outscoring the Oles 24-8.
St. Olaf opens the regular season on Nov. 15 at home against UW-Stevens Point.
