Hamline rallies for 5-4 win over Oles

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Hamline University scored four times in the third period to overcome a two-goal deficit to defeat St. Olaf 5-4 in a MIAC men's hockey game on Saturday night at Northfield Ice Arena.

Drew Otto scored twice while Tobias Gabrielson had a goal and an assist for St. Olaf (0-4-0, 0-2-0 MIAC), but the Pipers (3-0-1, 2-0-0 MIAC) got a Russ Jordan goal midway through the third to break a 4-4 tie.

The Oles raced to a 3-0 lead.  Tuukka Totro had the first St. Olaf goal, a power-play score at 3:08 of the first period on a feed from Gabrielson.
Hamline countered with four straight, including three in the opening seven-plus minutes of the third period to turn a 3-1 deficit to a 4-3 advantage.

Otto countered with a shorthanded goal at 9:56 on an assist from Joe Miller, but the tie was short-lived. Jordan then scored 59 seconds later, at 10:55, on assists from Brandon Wahlin and Mitch Hall to give HU the lead and the final margin.
