WINONA, Minn. -
Riley Aeikens had 17 points and three assists as St. Olaf overcame a 20-point first half deficit in a 75-67 MIAC men's basketball victory over host Saint Mary's University on Saturday afternoon.
The win is the sixth in a row for the Oles (16-8, 14-5 MIAC), who had 16 points each from
Justin Pahl and
Evan O'Dorisio. Pahl had all 16 of his points in the second half as St. Olaf used a 16-0 run over a span of 4:24 in the second half.
Wylie Ferron had 11 points and 13 rebounds and Connor Kaiser a team-best 15 points for the Cardinals (8-15, 6-12 MIAC). SMU was a blistering 7-for-10 from three-point range in the first half, but 1-of-8 in the second.Â
The Oles went 9-for-12 from the arc in the second half after making just 1-of-6 in the first. St. Olaf shot 68 percent from the field (17-25) in the final 20 minutes in outscoring SMU 50-25.
Robert Tobroxen added nin points and
Austin Majeskie six and seven rebounds.
Riley Parham, filling in for
Ben Figini, had seven points and four assists in his first career start.
St. Olaf closes the regular season on Wednesday with a home bout against regular-season champion, No. 4 St. Thomas (21-2, 16-2 MIAC).Â
