NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf volleyball team swept both Crown College (25-14, 25-23, 27-25) and Martin Luther College (25-9, 25-20, 25-18) to close out its last day of the St. Olaf Invitational on Saturday morning.
Game 1: St. Olaf 3, Crown College 0
St. Olaf hit for a team percentage of .240 with 40 kills on 100 attempts.
Megan Grimes followed suit from yesterday tallying 13 kills on 23 attempts with a .435 hitting percentage. She also added two block assists.
Katie Payne and
Sophie Schwartz had seven kills apiece and combined for five blocks.
Abby Slack had 15 digs and
Angela Fusselman had 11.
Katie Hinkle of Crown (0-3) had ten kills and two blocks.
Game 2: St. Olaf 3, Martin Luther College 0
The Oles held Martin Luther to a negative hitting percentage (-.048) in the 25-9, 25-20-25-18 win.
Sophie Schwartz had a seven kill game hitting .462. She also tabbed six blocks and added a dig to lead St. Olaf. Grimes led the Oles in kills with nine, while
Katie Payne and
Lauren Rewers also had seven kills.Â
Abigail Wiedel had 17 set assists and
Renata Erickson finished with 15.
Abby Slack led the defense in digs with 15.
St. Olaf's next contest will be vs. UW-Superior on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Skoglund Center.
