COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - Jubie Alade had 25 points off the bench as Saint John's weathered a second half St. Olaf comeback to defeat the visiting Oles 75-65 in a MIAC men's basketball game on Monday night at Sexton Arena.
Robert Tobroxen had 17 points and
Austin Korba 14 to lead the Oles (3-6, 1-3 MIAC), who used a 16-6 run in the second half to cut a 17-point SJU lead to seven with 7:38 to go. The teams then traded buckets twice before the Johnnies (7-2, 3-1 MIAC) scored the next five to all but seal the victory.
Tyler Weiss added 19 points and six rebounds for SJU. Alade went 11-of-15 from the floor and Garrett Goetz had five assists for the Johnnies.
Austin Majeskie had 10 points and nine rebounds while
Nate Albers and
Matthew Stroud had nine points each for the Oles, who were 4-for-16 from three-point range. SJU was 8-for-20 from the arc.
St. Olaf goes on the road again on Wednesday for another MIAC test at Hamline University at 7 p.m.
