NORTHFIELD, Minn. - After jumping out to a 2-0 lead after the first period, the St. Olaf men's hockey team gave up two goals in the third period, then lost on a Evan Erickson goal in OT on Saturday night at Northfield Ice Arena.
Drew Otto and
Brandon DesRosiers both tallied a goal in the first. Â Otto's goal came on a power play assisted by
Steven Sherman at 7:48 in the first period.  DesRosiers beat goalie Erik Johnson after an assist from Jonas Fredricksson at 18:26 in the first. Â
Gustavus (2-11-4, 2-6-1 MIAC) beat goalie
Eric Hancock for the first time in the third period at 4:41 on a power play goal from Colin Hernon. Â Both teams were 1-for-2 on the power play. Â Joe Lindberg then tied the game at 2-2 and the game remained there until Erickson scored the game winner 2:30 into OT. Â
Hancock made 23 saves for St. Olaf (5-11-2, 3-6-1 MIAC)Â against the 26 shots he faced. Â Johnson faced 22 shots, making 20 saves.
St. Olaf plays next on Tuesday evening against the University of Eau-Claire at Northfield Ice Arena at 7:30 p.m.
