NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Sixth-ranked UW-Eau Claire skated to a 4-1 non-conference men's hockey victory over St. Olaf on Tuesday night at Northfield Ice Arena.
Garret Clemment scored twice for the Blugolds (14-4-3), who led 1-0 on a goal by Todd Koritzinsky at 5:20 of the first.
St. Olaf tied the game on a
JT Paine goal at 5:17 of the second period with assists from
Steven Sherman and
Connor Smith. The Oles held a 12-10 advantage in shots in the final period, but a Clemment goal at 10:57 made it 3-1. Patrick Moore added an empty-net score for UW-Eau Claire with 1:18 left.
Erik Hancock made 33 saves in a losing effort while UW-Eau Claire's Jay Deo had 27 stops in the victory.
The Oles (5-12-2, 3-6-1 MIAC) are off this weekend before playing a home-and-home with Bethel University on Feb. 3-4. The Oles are 3-1-1 in their last five MIAC games.
