NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf men's basketball team (6-2, 3-2 MIAC) won 85-49 over Saint Mary's University (1-7, 0-5 MIAC) in a conference game on Wednesday at the Skoglund Center.
The Oles jumped out to a 7-0 lead before the Cardinals got on the board. St. Olaf never trailed in the game, though Saint Mary's got within one point 4:38 into the game when a Jakob Baily jumper cut the score to 9-8.
By halftime, the Oles led 51-31. In that first half, the Oles shot 64.5 percent from the floor. From three-point range, St. Olaf ended the half 7-for-13 (53.8 percent).
The Oles were less efficient in the second half, though they still ended the game shooting 62.5 percent from the floor and 50 percent beyond the arc. Saint Mary's ended the game with a field goal percentage of 31.2 to go along with a three-point percentage of 29.2.
Robert Tobroxen and
Austin Korba led the way for the Oles, with each netting 19 points on the night. Troy Diggins Jr. scored 14 points, and finished just shy of a double-double with a team leading nine rebounds.
Next up for the Oles is a game against the University of Wisconsin River Falls in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on December 29th.
