ST. PETER, Minn. - Gustavus Adolphus College held on for a 67-62 MIAC men's basketball win over visiting St. Olaf on Saturday at Gus Young Court.
Troy Diggins Jr. had 16 points off the bench to lead three Oles in double figures.
Robert Tobroxen added 14 and
Austin Korba 13 in the loss.
The Gusties (4-2, 2-0 MIAC) were paced by Riley Sharbono and Jason Faul, who had 16 points each.
St. Olaf, which trailed by as many as 12 in the first half, used a 14-4 run to close the first half and get within a bucket, at 34-32.
The Oles (3-1, 1-1 MIAC) took the lead three times in the second half, including a 51-48 advantage with 9:59 to play. Gustavus then scored the game's next 10 points, exclaimated by a Sharbono three-pointer with 5:17 left. The Oles were within three with the ball with 30 seconds to play, but Dominique Bledsoe's lay up rimmed out and Sharbono made two free throws on the ensuing possession.
Diggins Jr. was 4-for-9 from three-point range and Korba 2-for-4. The rest of the Oles combined to go 1-for-9.
