NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf men's basketball team was defeated by Carleton College 67-49 on Wednesday night at Skoglund Center.
Carleton (16-8, 13-6 MIAC) had four players in double-digit scoring. Kent Hanson led all scorers going 6-for-12 from the floor for 16 points. Freddie Gillespie followed with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Gillespie had two dunks in the midst of a 14-0 Carleton run over the final eight minutes of the first half.
The Oles (11-13, 9-10 MIAC) were led in points by
Austin Majeskie with 14. Majeskie was 6-for-12 from the floor and 2-for-4 from the three-point line.
Nate Albers and
Robert Tobroxen followed putting in eight apiece.Â
The Knights shot 54 percent from the floor and had 23 points off turnovers to sweep St. Olaf. The victory enabled the Knights, winners of 12 straight, to claim the Goat Trophy for the first time in since 2011. Â
St. Olaf will host Augsburg College on Saturday at 3 p.m.Â
