Robert Tobroxen had 22 points and eight rebounds and
Austin Korba 19 points as St. Olaf defeated Saint Mary's University 74-63 in a MIAC men's basketball game on Saturday afternoon.
Tobroxen added five assists for the Oles (9-11, 7-8 MIAC) , who had a double-double from
Austin Majeskie in the win. Majeskie had 14 points and collected 10 rebounds.Â
Wylie Ferron had 16 points, Jason Timm 12 and Aaron Romportl 11 for SMU.Â
The Oles used a 13-2 burst to open the game and never trailed. The Cardinals (6-14, 4-12 MIAC) tied the game with 7:09 left in the first half before St. Olaf used a 11-0 run and led 34-24 at the break. SMU pulled within three, 44-41, with 13:09 left. St. Olaf was 11-for-14 from the free throw line in the second half, including six in a row in the last minute, to seal the win.Â
The Oles play twice on the road next week, at Gustavus on Wednesday and at Macalester on Saturday.Â
