NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Seventh-ranked Saint John's University scored a 56-7 MIAC football victory over host St. Olaf on Saturday at Manitou Field.
St. Olaf was within 14-7 after
Kosey Mitchell's two-yard TD run with 9:54 to play in the second quarter. The Johnnies then put together two touchdown drives and a field goal late in the second quarter to lead 32-7 at the half.
Jackson Erdmann was 11-for-18 passing for 194 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Johnnies (3-0, 1-0 MIAC), who had seven different players score touchdowns.
Will Gallach had four catches for 87 yards for SJU, while Danny Pietruszewski rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown on five carries.
St. Olaf receiver
Troy Peterson had 11 receptions for 56 yards and
Jorgen Salveson five for 67 yards.
The Johnnies held a 494-174 advantage in total offense and had 25 first downs to the Oles' eight.
Jacob Ossell led the Ole defense with 14 tackles, including five solo.
Sam Stuckmayer added six with 1.5 sacks.
Saint John's will play St. Thomas next week at Target Field, while St. Olaf will play at Bethel University.
