NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf men's soccer team were unable to capitalize on scoring chances, falling to Wartburg 2-0 Wednesday at Rolf Mellby Field.
Wartburg struck first, when Sammy Jung broke away from an Ole defender and took a shot over the advancing
Ben Westermeyer to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. Ayo Adebayo added to the Wartburg lead when he got a shot past a diving Westermeyer late in the second period.
Down two goals with time running out, the Oles took the offensive. In a two minute window of game time the Oles took a corner kick and managed three shots, but were unable to score. The Oles would end up taking three more shots, two on goal, before time ultimately expired.
